FAQs

How do I care for my piece?

Updated 9/17/22. It’s easy! All products are fully vitrified, meaning they exhibit a negligible amount of water absorption, less than or equal to 1%. Glazes are formulated to be non-toxic and are independently tested for toxicity when necessary. All pieces are food-, microwave-, and dishwasher-safe unless otherwise noted. Pieces are not oven or stove-safe. When taking a hot ceramic piece out of a microwave, take care not to set it on a cool surface or the quick temperature change could cause it to crack.

What’s your shipping policy?

Updated 9/19/22. I'm based in the state of Virginia on the east coast of the United States. I ship within the United States using the United States Postal Service (USPS) and sometimes UPS, depending on the weight. Orders are shipped within a week of placement.

If you live outside of the United States and wish to purchase a piece please email me at hello@deepblack.design.

What’s up with the shipping prices?

Updated 9/17/22. Pottery is heavy and requires a lot of packaging to prevent breakage. Carriers charge based on weight, size, distance, and date. I am located on the east coast, in Virginia, so shipping to the west coast has previously been done at a great loss for me. At checkout your shipping cost is now automatically calculated. However the system is not flawless and may result in higher-than-actual shipping charges. In the event that you are overcharged for shipping, you will be refunded the difference when your order is shipped out; you may not receive a refund notification.

How can I return or exchange a product?

What do I do if I received a broken piece?
